Prototyping With The Design Gym

image

A few weeks ago we partnered with The Design Gym and participated in their weekend long workshop with UNICEF and US Fund. This was a great opportunity to help a fellow startup who’s doing great work and to test out our kits with real people!

Throughout the weekend, workshop participants were taught design processes through hands-on exercises that involved learning how to research, interview, prototype, and more. Each group was given the same problem and by the end of the day had to present their concepts. We got to see how groups used our kits dependent on their needs and end product, whether it was a digital or physical or even service based.  Here are a few photos from the weekend.

We learned quite a bit from this experience. Our first breakthrough was seeing how useful they were in workshop settings. This made it easier for team members to share their thoughts when they were able to show and walk through a prototype, especially when they’re pressed for time. The second thing we learned was our stickies needed to be stickier. There were some issues of getting the stickies to stick on the bases. We are currently working on this issue so be sure to stay tuned for our enhanced tack stickies!
